Abstract:

Introduction: HOSPITALs, as an important unit in the modern treatment system, using various sources, are responsible for providing, maintaining and promoting health for individuals in the community. In order to perform this important service, it is necessary to meet their needs properly. This study was conducted to design a model of factors affecting HOSPITAL SERVICES supply chain. Materials and Methods: This is a combined (qualitative-quantitative) research in which the opinions of fifteen experts about the HOSPITAL supply chain from six provinces of the country were used. After conducting a semi-structured interview, their opinions were collected until saturation and then analyzed. The framework analysis approach was used to determine the effective factors. Using Delphi method, the level of agreement of experts was evaluated. Results: After analysis and coding, finally seven main topics including financial resources, human resources, technologies, induced demand, management, supply and distribution, and construction and equipment were identified. Meanwhile, management (mean4/42±, 0/46 and mean rank5/56) was identified as the most important factor. Conclusion: Although financial or human resources and other factors inside or outside the organization affect the HOSPITAL SERVICES supply chain, but investing to improve management prevents or reduces the impact of many challenges.

Abstract:

Background and purpose: Presently, computers and the development of information technology have resolved many limitations in the health and medical arena, and have also opened many doors to improve communication, information and ability for better patient care, in health and medical care provider centers. Moreover, they have many applications such as virtual reality, medical data-bank, tele-health, expert systems and information-networks. The purpose of this study was to evaluate reporting software of ADS9 counteri’s program.Materials and methods: This research is a descriptive study which was performed in 2008. Population of this study include employees in office of statistics of Medical Universities in Iran, that work in conjunction with Hospimp software and is answerable regarding Hospimp software in the Ministry of Health and Medical Education. For data collection, researcher used a two-part questionnaire for evaluating general and specified criteria pertaining to the software. The analysis of data was used in descriptive manner with SPSS. The grade of variables studied in this research involved: evaluation of general properties, specified properties, statistical reporting, data-bases, goal of groups and aim of the program with Hospimp software, that is, in average 37.5, 22.58, 41.66, 57.14, 36.36 and 27.27, with a standard deviations of 0.09, 0.08, 0.15, 0.2, 0.15 and 0.14.Results: Technical tissue fall in the slide was not observed. 93.93 % of SCC was stained by p63. None of the small cell carcinoma was stained by p63. In the first 2 months, 53.34% of distained section’s had similar staining intensity, compared with re-cut sections, 46.66% of cases were decreased in staining intensity and none were negative. Conclusion: Generally, in the evaluated dimensions, Hospimp software has more blind spots rather than strength spots. General properties of the software have a better intensity level, than its specified properties. In order to improve and develop useable software’s in the health and medical arenas, we will recommend the development of international standards in designing, production, testing, measuring and software conservation.

Abstract:

Introduction: Evaluation of HOSPITAL information system (HIS) is a complex endeavor, in which all human, technical and organizational aspects should be considered. This study aimed to develop indicators for HIS evaluation. Methods: Present qualitative study was carried out through a cross-sectional method in 2012 in Kerman province, using Delphi technique. Given the objectives of this study, three independent phases were performed including literature review, providing draft indicators for HIS evaluation and reaching consensus. Required data were obtained through interviews and designed forms. Twenty-three experts composed the study population in interview and reaching consensus phases. Validity and reliability were confirmed through content validity and test-retest method, respectively. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: Final set of indicators for HIS evaluation consisted of ninety-one indicators under 8 main topics, i.e. technical quality, software quality, architecture and interface quality, vendor quality, after-sale SERVICES quality, workflow support quality, support department, outcome quality and HIS cost. Conclusion: Given the complexity of information system evaluation, all human, technical and organizational aspects have to be taken into account in any evaluation. Proposed indicators provide the possibility of comprehensive evaluation of HIS.

Abstract:

Background: Upon the implementation of the plans of the selected HOSPITALs in Paragraph (C) Article [88] of the Law of the Fourth Development Plan, the amount of assessment relative to the execution of each of the Paragraphs related to the directives or guidelines of the mode of managing these HOSPITALs is compulsory. The present article has made efforts to assess the implementation basis of Paragraph [9] of the above-mentioned directives and a survey of conditions as to the performance of the support SERVICES in these HOSPITALs.Methods: This study rested on the performance of 14 supporting activities of 18 selected decentralized HOSPITALs that took place in 2007. Data were collected from questionnaire that had 6 parts about support SERVICES and how they were done in each HOSPITAL. Then the data were analyzed with Excel software. Results: In HOSPITALs 35. 60 % of the activities are performed by the contractor. The materials utilized in activities are 10. 34 percent, equipping is 26. 48% and equipment repair is 31. 47% of the cases are secured by the contractor. Results pertaining to the survey of manpower engaged in activities show that 62. 71% of the manpower engaged has an intermediate level of education and the relative average of manpower active in such work as of functional beds can be stated as 0.64, likewise, the average satisfaction rate of the SERVICES rendered was 71%.Conclusion: A strategy leading to a decrease of incumbency and an elevation in the support service quality can bring about an increment in the quality of support SERVICES being presently rendered in HOSPITALs which could prove effective.

Abstract:

There is a kind of supply chain SERVICES that the products are not considered as a commodity, and a combination of products and service or only service is exchanged in these chains. Despite the importance of these supply chains, the research literature is not very rich and the need for further strengthening in this area is quite evident. HOSPITAL service supply chains are also the type of service supply chains that should be taken into consideration. The aim of the current research was to optimize the supply chain of HOSPITAL SERVICES. For this purpose, library studies were first conducted and the research gap was extracted. Then, a multi-objective mathematical planning model was designed based on research innovation and its assumptions, the first objective was to minimize the cost, the second objective was to minimize the unrealized demand, and the third objective was to maximize the commitment of suppliers. After the solution, the model was validated based on fast-moving and non-moving goods, and the results showed that the parameters of the model all lead to a worsening of the solution, causing an increase in cost and unfulfilled demand and a decrease in employee commitment. But the goal of employee commitment has changed more than other goals due to the increase in parameters, and sometimes this commitment is reduced by 70%. The parameter of demand for fast-moving consumer goods has the greatest effect on cost and unrealized demand.

Abstract:

Background: The scarcity of resources and growing demand for health care, as well as moral, socioeconomic and political imperatives for efficient use of resources, make cost information and adoption of an accurate methodology an integral part of the modern management.Materials & Methods: At first, a research protocol including literature review strategies, inclusion and exclusion criteria and data gathering methods, was designed. Afterwards, using an electronic search of several databases, some relevant studies were identified. Results: In the costing literature the economic and accounting approaches are distinguishable. Two methods of marginal and average unit cost analyses are attributable to these approaches. Considering the type of the problem to be decided about and cost targets, costing methods can be different. Factors such as types of cost analyses and economic evaluation, timing overview, analysis approach and advantage or disadvantage of economy of scale have a significant role in determining the costs. Conclusion: Having no consensus of opinion on the most appropriate principles to use in costing process is one of the main challenges of the time. There is a trade-off between the accuracy and cost of achieving cost information... Therefore, standardization of costing methodologies and adoption of comprehensive approaches for the main issues will predispose an economical international and organizational comparability.
